Prof. Dr. Korkmaz Sayınsu

Born in Ankara on 25 August 1971. He attended primary and secondary school in İzmir. In 1989 he was admitted to the English-language Faculty of Dentistry at Marmara University, opened for the first time that year, and graduated in 1994. In the same year he was accepted onto the doctoral programme of the university’s Department of Orthodontics.

In May 2000 he was awarded the title of Doctor of Orthodontics with his thesis “Radiographic and Model Analysis of the Effects of a Newly Developed Bodily Molar Distalization Appliance”. In October 2000 he joined the Department of Orthodontics at Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry as a member of the academic staff, and became Assistant Professor in 2001.

He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in October 2006.

Between 2008 and 2010 he completed the “Martin/Cocconi Continuing Education in Orthodontics — FACE Treatment Philosophy” programme.

In 2009 he left his post at Yeditepe University to continue his work in private practice.

Since 2009 he has been giving courses and seminars on self-ligating brackets, preparation for orthognathic surgery, and temporomandibular joint oriented treatment.

In 2010 he became a founding partner of the training company Akord Eğitim ve Danışmanlık Tic. Ltd. Şti, where he directed and taught on the courses it organised.

In 2012 he opened a joint practice with his wife, orthodontist Neşe Yoko Sayınsu.

In 2016 he was awarded the title of Professor at the Department of Orthodontics, Altınbaş University Faculty of Dentistry. He is currently Head of that department.

Since 2016 he has been one of the instructors of the FACE course.

In 2018 he became the Türkiye representative of BSCOSO.
